1. Though I speake with the tongues of men & of Angels, and haue not charity, I am become as sounding brasse or a tinkling cymbal.
2. And though I haue the gift of prophecie, and vnderstand all mysteries and all knowledge: and though I haue all faith, so that I could remooue mountaines, and haue no charitie, I am nothing.
3. And though I bestowe all my goods to feede the poore, and though I giue my body to bee burned, and haue not charitie, it profiteth me nothing.
4. Charitie suffereth long, and is kinde: charitie enuieth not: charitie vaunteth not it selfe, is not puffed vp,
5. Doeth not behaue it selfe vnseemely, seeketh not her owne, is not easily prouoked, thinketh no euill,
6. Reioyceth not in iniquitie, but reioyceth in the trueth:
7. Beareth all things, beleeueth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8. Charitie neuer faileth: but whether there bee prophecies, they shall faile; whether there bee tongues, they shall cease; whether there bee knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9. For we know in part, and we prophesie in part.
10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part, shall be done away.
11. When I was a childe, I spake as a childe, I vnderstood as a childe, I thought as a childe: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12. For now we see through a glasse, darkly: but then face to face: now I know in part, but then shall I know euen as also I am knowen.
13. And now abideth faith, hope, charitie, these three, but the greatest of these is charitie.
1. Hee that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High: shall abide vnder the shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge, and my fortresse: my God, in him will I trust.
3. Surely he shall deliuer thee from the snare of the fowler: and from the noisome pestilence.
4. Hee shall couer thee with his feathers, and vnder his wings shalt thou trust: his trueth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5. Thou shalt not bee afraide for the terrour by night: nor for the arrow that flieth by day.
6. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkenes: nor for the destruction, that wasteth at noone-day.
7. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee.
8. Onely with thine eyes shalt thou behold: and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, euen the most High, thy habitation.
10. There shall no euill befall thee: neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11. For he shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee: to keepe thee in all thy wayes.
12. They shall beare thee vp in their hands: lest thou dash thy foote against a stone.
13. Thou shalt treade vpon the Lion, and Adder: the yong Lion and the Dragon shalt thou trample vnder feete.
14. Because he hath set his loue vpon me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will set him on high, because he hath knowen my Name.
15. He shall call vpon me, and I will answere him: I will be with him in trouble, I will deliuer him, and honour him.
16. With long life will I satisfie him: and shew him my saluation.
1. The LORD is my shepheard, I shall not want.
2. Hee maketh me to lie downe in greene pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soule: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousnesse, for his Names sake.
4. Yea though I walke through the valley of the shadow of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me, in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oyle, my cuppe runneth ouer.
6. Surely goodnesse and mercy shall follow me all the dayes of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for euer.
1. When a man hath taken a wife and married her, and it come to passe that shee find no fauour in his eyes, because he hath found some vncleannesse in her: then let him write her a bill of diuorcement, and giue it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2. And when shee is departed out of his house, she may goe and be another mans wife.
3. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of diuorcement, and giueth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house: Or if the latter husband die, which tooke her to be his wife,
4. Her former husband which sent her away, may not take her againe to be his wife, after that she is defiled: for that is abomination before the LORD, and thou shalt not cause the land to sinne, which the LORD thy God giueth thee for an inheritance.
12. But to the rest speake I, not the Lord, If any brother hath a wife that beleeueth not, and shee bee pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13. And the woman which hath an husband that beleeueth not, and if hee be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leaue him.
14. For the vnbeleeuing husband is sanctified by the wife, and the vnbeleeuing wife is sanctified by the husband; else were your children vncleane, but now are they holy.
15. But if the vnbeleeuing depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not vnder bondage in such cases: but God hath called vs to peace.
16. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt saue thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt saue thy wife?
1. To euery thing there is a season, and a time to euery purpose vnder the heauen.
2. A time to be borne, and a time to die: a time to plant, and a time to pluck vp that which is planted.
3. A time to kill, and a time to heale: a time to breake downe, and a time to build vp.
4. A time to weepe, and a time to laugh: a time to mourne, and a time to dance.
5. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together: a time to imbrace, and a time to refraine from imbracing.
6. A time to get, and a time to lose: a time to keepe, and a time to cast away.
7. A time to rent, and a time to sow: a time to keepe silence, and a time to speake.
8. A time to loue, and a time to hate: a time of warre, and a time of peace.
1. I will lift vp mine eyes vnto the hilles: from whence commeth my helpe.
2. My helpe commeth from the LORD: which made heauen and earth.
3. He will not suffer thy foote to be moued: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel: shall neither slumber nor sleepe.
5. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade, vpon thy right hand.
6. The sunne shall not smite thee by day; nor the moone by night.
7. The LORD shall preserue thee from all euill: he shall preserue thy soule.

BÍBLIA. Inglês. The Holy Bible, conteyning the Old Testament, and the New: newly translated out of the originall tongues: & with the former translations diligently compared and reuised, by His Maiesties speciall commandement. London: Printed by Robert Barker, Printer to the Kings most Excellent Maiestie, 1611.
The rest of Esther (O Resto de Ester — 6 capítulos)
Wisedome (Sabedoria de Salomão — 19 capítulos)
Ecclesiasticus (Eclesiástico / Sirácida — 51 capítulos)
Baruch with the Epistle of Iremiah (Baruque com a Epístola de Jeremias — 6 capítulos)
The song of the three children (A Canção dos Três Jovens)
The story of Susanna (A História de Susana)
The idole Bel and the Dragon (O Ídolo Bel e o Dragão)
The prayer of Manasseh (A Oração de Manassés)
O Artigo VI estabelecia claramente a distinção canônica:

Em quase todas as edições comerciais impressas a partir dos séculos XVIII e XIX, o prefácio The Translators to the Reader foi suprimido, mantendo-se apenas a breve e solene “Epístola Dedicatória”, dirigida ao Rei James I (To the Most High and Mightie Prince James).
O documento aborda quatro grandes temas centrais:

Ex. vocálico: vnto (unto), vpon (upon), vnderstand (understand), vs (us).
Ex. consonantal: vaine (vain), voyce (voice), vine (vine).
Ex. consonantal: haue (have), euill (evil), loue (love), giue (give), prouoked (provoked), seruant (servant), heauen (heaven), moued (moved).
Ex: Iesus (Jesus), Iohn (John), Ioseph (Joseph), Iudeth (Judith), ioy (joy), iustified (justified), iudge (judge), maiestie (majesty).
Ex: upõ = upon, mã = man, manī = manie, frō = from, thẽ = them, cõmaundement = commandement.
Assim, yᵉ lê-se the e yᵗ lê-se that.
Vogais dobradas: bee (be), feede (feed), seede (seed), doeth (doth).
Singular (Tu / Ti / Teu)

Importância Teológica: Quando Jesus fala com Nicodemos em João 3:7 ("Marvel not that I said unto thee [singular], Ye [plural] must be born again"), a gramática de 1611 revela que a declaração foi dita a Nicodemos individualmente (thee), mas a necessidade do novo nascimento aplica-se a toda a humanidade (ye).
2ª Pessoa do Singular (Thou): Desinência em -est ou -st (thou knowest, thou hast, thou shalt, thou doest).
3ª Pessoa do Singular (He / She / It): Desinência arcaica em -eth ou -th em vez do moderno -s (he saith, he doeth, she goeth, it cometh).
Quick / Quicken (2 Timóteo 4:1; Salmo 119:50): Quick significa "vivo" (the quick and the dead = os vivos e os mortos).
